In 2022, several volunteers involved with CNY Film Professionals (501c3) delivered a 12-week training program for students of Syracuse City School District. That program, titled CALL TIME, culminated with apprenticeship opportunities on a professional short-film production. The short film was based on a story developed by the students, and the production was led by 35 expert film crew. Elias Gwinn, President of CNY Film Professionals, said, “Learning from experts on a professional film set is the only tried-and-true way to become qualified to work in the film industry. CALL TIME gave them that immersive experience, while including them in the creative direction as well.”
